June 2004 - New Deluxe Cabin ALL-WEATHER COMFORT FOR DRIVERS
The new Deluxe Cabin from Toyota Industrial Equipment is set to provide complete driver comfort in all weather and working conditions.
Available on 7IC models, with capacity ranging from 2 to 3.5 tonnes, the Deluxe Cabin is designed specifically for forklift drivers working in challenging environments. Its arrival means that Toyota, the world's number one manufacturer of materials handling equipment*, now offers the most comprehensive range of cabins on the market.
Designed to deal with extreme weather, hot and cold, the Deluxe Cabin features a powerful 6kw heater, which maintains optimum temperatures inside the enclosed cab. An optional air conditioning system is also available, to help cool the cabin when temperatures rise. For poor lighting conditions, particularly during the winter months and shorter days, powerful front working lights provide better viewing as well as extra illumination for loading and unloading pallets.
Easy access is enabled by a side door that opens in two stages, to 41 to provide easy entry and exit for drivers and to 180 to open the side opening engine hood which gives service engineers fast and unrestricted access and therefore minimises maintenance costs and downtime.
Ergonomics are enhanced with a driving position that can be adapted to fit any individual driver requirements. As well as adjustable seat and mini-levers, the height and angle of the steering column can also be adapted to suit the driver. Rubber mountings on the truck engine and full floating suspension on the cab creates a smoother driving experience and the suspended high seat provides additional protection against vibration and helps to absorb impact. Drivers will also benefit from greater visibility as a result of the higher seating position and a newly designed rear window.
Specific benefits for the driver include noise reduction to 75dB at the driver's ear, according to EN12053. Other standard features and accessories include a 12v power supply to charge mobile phones or operate small electrical devices, an opening glass sunroof, cup holder, paper tray, full adjustable reading light as well as a radio/cassette player with CD option. Minilevers put all hydraulic function features, such as lift, tilt and automatic fork levelling, which are also part of the SAS package, at the driver's fingertips.
Fitted as standard on all Toyota Generation 7 forklifts, the Toyota System of Active Stability (SAS), dynamically protects the driver and the load. All the SAS safety features reduce the consequences of operational error and contribute to even the most experienced operator's productivity.
Benoit Meunier, product manager, Toyota Industrial Equipment Europe, comments: "The driver was very much at the heart of the design of the Deluxe Cabin. Its development exemplifies how Toyota continues to lead the market in supplying innovative solutions. With literally hundreds of features that contribute to increased driver comfort and safety, the Generation 7 range is already world-leading and with the arrival of the Deluxe Cabin, Toyota forklift drivers can now operate in demanding conditions with maximum efficiency."
