October 2005 A forklift evolution

Toyota Industrial Equipment Europe has set even higher ergonomic standards across its 7FBMF and 7IC counterbalanced forklift trucks to provide optimum driver comfort and efficiency.

Key developments include electronic mini-levers integrated into the ergonomic seat-mounted armrest. The forward and reverse directional control is also integrated into the armrest for simple operation when changing direction.

These ergonomic solutions will minimise vibrations and ensure optimum driver comfort when operating on uneven surfaces. They also give the operator more control, which will improve his or her efficiency and productivity.

Greater mast visibility has been provided on the 7IC and 7FBMF ranges, which ensures even higher levels of safety. Safety is also enhanced with an optional emergency button now available for the armrest on the 7FBMF.

In line with the improved ergonomics, Toyota has given the 7FBMF a new look. Changes include a reshaped battery hood, plus a more rounded counterweight.

Benoit Meunier, Product Manager at Toyota said: "Toyota's Kaizen philosophy means that we are continuously improving our products in line with customers' changing needs, to provide the highest levels of satisfaction.

"These enhancements ensure that our 7FBMF and 7IC trucks offer leading levels of safety, comfort and productivity. Customers can now benefit from the same functions and features no matter which type of truck they decide to use."
