May 2006 - Toyota launches new generation of low-level order pickers
Toyota Industrial Equipment has launched a brand new generation of low-level order pickers designed to ensure safer and more productive order picking.
Order picking is extremely labour and personnel intensive, making safety and productivity particularly important issues for workers in this environment.
Comprising four models, the new 7LOP range features market-leading technologies which significantly improve safety, comfort and productivity. The range features improved steering achieved through an ergonomic tiller head and fly-by-wire steering, which enables drivers to manoeuvre safely and easily.
Safety is also enhanced by automatic speed reduction when cornering. When making turns exceeding 25˚, the truck’s speed is automatically and proportionally decreased.
The risk of accident when walking with the 7LOP is minimised by several safety features. If the operator steers the handle more than 20˚ while in walking function, the truck locks, eliminating the risk of foot injuries.
Optional sideways adjustable steering makes the 7LOP an ergonomic as well as safe solution in order picking environments.
